Splits - Letter to Dad - 19 April, 2015

Hey Dad!!

First of all, well done with the cake. It looks super super cool!! <3 <3

How is work going? How is your game coming along? I would love to test it and help you with it! If you ever need Japanese translation, please tell me. :) haha I can't promise it would be perfect (until I checked it with some of the Japanese elders). :) But I would do my best!

Thank you for what you sent in your last email to me about being a good leader and following the example of Jesus Christ. I have learned a lot about that this past week, more through experience than through study. I think that experience is so important. It teaches so many lessons. :)

Dad, did you ever get to serve in an area with your mission office? I feel like I really do not know that much about your mission. I would love to hear any of the fun stories that you have. :) I love it here. Our district is so great. There are 14 elders and sisters, and it is such a blast. Last week on P-day we all played dodgeball, and it was just so fun to release. I think that exercise and sports are so important for that reason. It gives people a way to relieve stress, and I think it was one of the things that God really established as a good stress reliever. It is so incredible how the body works, and how it is perfectly set up to take care of itself, grow, etc. when you are taking care of it. It is such a testament to me of the divinity and genius of God.

What were some of your favorite ways to do missionary work? Just walking on the streets? Knocking doors? Going to the park? etc. I would love to hear what you liked to do. I can definitely try to incorporate into the work that I do here.

How do you effectively hold and run a conference? What things do you do? I am sorry that this email has a ton of questions, I am just super curious. What gospel principles do you use when you go into conferences? What administrative things do you do when you go to meetings that helps them run smoothly, helps everyone work together, etc.? I would love to hear all about it!

Sorry, this one was a little shorter, but I want you to know that I love you, so so so much!! :) Thanks for all that you do for me, Dad!! :) <3

Love, Elder Livingston
